Zoo, Ice Cream, and School

Tori got to pick what we did on Sunday the day before her first day of school. The Zoo it was! WE had to drive 2 hours to Des Moines but it was fun.
Highlights:
***Tori got bit by a donkey at the petting zoo, he wanted more food than she had in her hand and she didn't pull her hand back soon enough.
***20 million questions about why the train was broken. What a bummer!
***Alli pointing and saying "AT" to every animal that would move. She really loved the monkies.
***Tori took her stuffed elephant and they didn't even have an elephant.
***The aquarium had Nemo's and Dory's
After we got home we went to the park and had a pizza picnic. Then Ice cream cones at home. Alli loved this and thought she was soooo big to get her own.

Tori's first day of school! My alarm clock was set for 7am at 6:50 tori came in our room and said Mommy, I am ready for school day. Okay it was a little early then I see what she meant. She had gotten herself dressed. It was so cute!
Report I got when I picked her up. Her favorite part of the day was snack time and they got to read a book "When you give a pig a party".

Ta Da!

We thought Tori was the only 4 year old to not ride a bike. She could just not get it. Then my niece who has been riding a bike for years tried it and she couldn't do it. Conclusion: It was not Tori it was the bike. Upon closer inspection this is what we found. #1 one training wheel was not positioned correctly and #2 the tires were very flat. So a wrench, some air, and 5 minutes later we have a pro on our hands. Today it is raining so I had to clean out the garage and pull my van out so she could practice.

Allison update: 110% on her height (35 inches)she will just not quit growing. She is now saying two words: hot (with any food), and cheese (in front of a camera not the dairy product).

We have open house for Humpty Dumpty Preschool tonight, Tori is very excited. First day is Monday.

K and J are doing well. Kurt keeps very busy at work, but enjoys it, he is just getting over a rupture in his eye that got infected. Yuck. I am still tutoring at Sylvan and really enjoy it. I am going to be taking two grad classes this fall, so plan to be really busy.

Pool day in G-burg

We took a spontaneous trip to the the burg, and just swam and golfed a little. We had a great time at the pool and got to see April for lunch on Sunday. Alli went off the board for the first time. We didn't get any pics as there was no one else at the pool except the guards, but she did great. The first three times I didn't even carry her, she just held my hand and walked right out to kurt and I droped her in.

Action shot of Tori jumping in.

When he got home to Iowa I had a new toy for the girls, this little pink and purple wagon. (best $1 at a garage sale i ever spent) Daddy used a zip tie and made them a trailor just like his behind his four-wheeler. First we just gave stuffed animals and babies rides, then we figured why not Allison. They had a blast.

Waterpark

We had a great day at the Cedar Falls Waterpark with Nana, Aunt Mel, Malorie, and Makala.
We played the zero depth pool the longest. Malorie and I had a blast going down the slides, but not the dark one.
This reminds me of "hey hey were the monkeys" Loving cousins.
Playing on the snake in the zero depth pool

Alli's favorite is the elephant slide.

Fishing Day

Tori's new favorite thing to do is fishing. We are lucky to have a few little lakes and ponds near us so that the 20 minutes of fishing does not take a whole day. This is one of her and Alli's favorite things to do, play with daddy's plastic worms. The actual fishing lasted this day about 30 minutes with ten of those minutes resting to have a snack. Kurt loves that his girls will do this and I just enjoy watching and being outside.

Everyone has to pick out their favorite colors.
This was Tori's first catch of the day all by herself. look really close, it is a fish

Alli even had a try, she was more interested in feeding the fish her goldfish crackers.
